Complaints Involving Children

The Office of the NSW Ombudsman, in partnership with the National Office for Child Safety, has developed the Complaint Handling Guide: Upholding the Rights of Children and Young People.

The Complaint Handling Guide is available here.

The Guide provides practical advice to organisations about how to create a complaint-handling system that prioritises child safety and promotes the rights of children and young people to have a voice in decisions that affect them.

CAPS fully supports the child-centric approach set out in the Guide. We are available to help organisations of all sizes develop the policies and processes needed to ensure that complaints involving children are handled in a protective and compassionate manner.
