CAPS Annual Safe Children Conference
Hosted by CAPS in March 2018, the inaugural Safe Children Conference brought together over 200 childcare and child protection organisations from around the country for a national discussion about the implications of the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse.
The overwhelming success of the event saw CAPS committing to hosting the Safe Children Conference every year. This will ensure that child protection is given the national attention that it deserves, and that the conversation around it will continue long after the conclusion of the Royal Commission.
The Safe Children Conference 2019, to be held in Sydney on 22 October, will examine the intersectionality of child abuse and explore how all areas of society can work together to achieve real change.
This year’s event will focus on:• The link between child abuse and domestic violence in later life • Why every workplace must be able to recognise and respond to signs of maltreatment • The need for a more preventative approach • How new technologies can be used to help stop abuse
When | 22 October 2019, 9am - 5pm
